Epic Fail

So I failed miserably at updating everyday.  But lets just say that this has been the worst couple days ever...for reasons that will not be disclosed.  In the meantime..I will do a big update for the past 6 days that I have failed to entertain/inform you about.  Here we go...

1.  I hate my internship and don't really know what to do.  I have officially decided that fashion and magazine work combined is not for me.

2.  This weekend was my friend carly's 21st birthday.  We will leave it at that because too many things happened that we do not need to talk about

3.  I also watched my baby girls this weekend and Parker on Sunday night.

4.  My Jets lost to the Steelers (rapists)...I was pretty sad but that is okay they tried and had a good second half.

5.  My favorite fruit stand came back today...its a block from my apartment and I am super excited.

6.  I had a conversation with a 76 year old man at 4 am at dunkin donuts on saturday night..the first thing he said to Nikki and I was "I am not drunk or perverted"  I responded with..."Why are you awake now" and he said "I was at a bar" and I then said "and really you are not drunk...explain that one to me"...then he proceeded to tell me all about his dead wife and children..and he showed me their photos.

7.  I am in class right now and should probably be paying attention to the movie we are watching.  We are watching Man on Wire...oh Writing New York..you were a useless class.

Oh January Session...

I am sitting in class right now...clearly paying excellent attention.  January session is kind of a joke!  Our professor really doesn't seem to care that no one is paying attention...which actually makes me feel kind of bad.  We were supposed to read Ragtime for today...the whole book...and I might have gotten a total of 40 pages done.  Oops...but I had other HW for this class so I have a legitimate excuse.  Right now, one kid is watching a movie and pretty much everyone else is doodling or on Facebook.  I clearly, am not doing what I am supposed to be doing...so what a great time to update my blog and catch myself up.

Today has been rainy and disgusting all day!  I went to sushi with Nikki which is always good...and cleaned my room...Surprise Surprise.  Other then that nothing else.  Like I said..I am not exciting.

Interning tomorrow..woohoo.

Target with Gina

So Monday morning...I don't think anyone really likes Monday mornings...unless you don't have to go to work or school...which, due to Martin Luther King Day was cancelled.  I went to the gym with Gina in the morning and I went to Target with her in the afternoon to buy a space heater because it is so darn cold!  And on top of the cold..our heat is not working because my roommate Nikki had a leaking pipe in her room...and the only way the pipe stopped leaking was if the heat in the whole building was turned off.  I am pretty sure building 530 hates our GUTS! but that is ok..had to do what we had to do...

Aside from that...not an exciting day...at 1:30 am Christie and I could not sleep so we turned to Jazzercise as a way to not only work out but tire ourselves out.  Little did we know we would actually be sore the next day...my right butt cheek is hating me right now..clearly it needs to tone up.  Anyway...nothing too exciting just trying to catch up on my blogging!

JETS vs. PATS

I definitely watched my Jets kick butt against the Patriots on Sunday...I was pretty happy...but I was respectful because my roommate Kate and my friend Gina were both here and are sadly...both Patriots fans.  Literally that was the most exciting part of my day...I went to the gym...thats not fun...but I have been trying to keep up with the working out and eating right.  Maybe one of these days I will see some results!

Hormones

Wow...I have been so bad with the updates. Saturday the 15th I was with the little ladies again.  Not much of an exciting day.  We went to the Museum of Natural History, which was fun, other then the fact that the girls were more interested in buying candy, then looking at old dinosaurs and other cool things.  On the way over to the museum, we rode the bus, and Emma decided to tell everyone why she doesn't eat McDonalds.  She told the entire front of the bus that she doesn't eat it because it makes you fat, and because the chicken has hormones in it and hormones make your boobs grow.  Where she got this information...I haven't the slightest idea.  She is too funny..everyone was hysterical.  Other than that..we came home and ate dinner..had bath time..and struggled to go to bed.

Tangled

I apologize for the lack of updates...well I apologize to my mom since she is pretty much the only one that reads my blog, but I have had a very bad cold and zero motivation to update.  Friday, which is when this blog should have been posted, I babysat the girls and we went to see Tangled.  Seriously, cutest movie I have seen in a long time, and it could very well be my favorite Disney movie...just saying.  Other then that, not too much excitement.  I got an A on a paper that I was very proud of, and my professor left some great comments which was really nice!

okay I need to go back to bed..

Here's to being an Intern

Definitely worked a 12 hour shift as an intern yesterday.  There was a snow storm the night before and I really did not want to go into work, but being that it was only my second day, I figured it was only necessary that I attend.  So I went, and was in for quite the surprise.  I had no idea that I would be there until 9 pm!  Thats a little wacky if I do say so myself..oh well..other then that ...nothing too exciting.

Friday Night Lights

Hangin' out at home, not doing my HW which will probably get me in trouble at some point, but I am watching Friday Night Lights with my roommates which is a lot more exciting then reading about the history of NY.  Not much of an exciting day today.  I am getting back into working out and eating well.  I am trying to lose ten pounds by Spring Break!  I am very determined...and have the help of my roommate who is doing it with me.  The holiday treats were well worth it, but I am paying for it now.   I ran three miles today, and should probably go take a shower but I am laying on the couch with Kate and Jason...

It's supposed to snow today...I am dreading it, because I will have to walk to the subway in it tomorrow to get to work.  A little bit of flurrying is okay, but this is supposed to be a full blown blizzard. :(

Thats about it for today...

Lucky

I fell asleep in the middle of blogging yesterday! OOPS! Yesterday was an exciting day.  I started my third internship...this one at Lucky Magazine, because after my other two internships I am really starting to believe that the fashion industry is where I would like to be long.  I love clothes, and working in fashion is any girls dream.  Do to confidentiality I am unable to share full details of the internship, however I will let you know what I can.  The fashion industry is as cut throat as they say.  People are demanding and expect things done quickly and efficiently, so if you are incapable of working in a tension filled fast pace environment, then I highly recommend finding another field of interest.  As far as first days go, my internship was fun, met a lot of cool people, and we will see over time how it goes.

After my internship which was all day...I had to go to class.  Apparently my attention span is lacking this January session because I am much more interested in Facebook then paying attention in class.  I sat for four hours, and remember very little of yesterdays class.  Ugh...its probably because I was working all day. Hopefully today I pay more attention then yesterday.  Oh well...hope everyones doing well!

Divalicious

Today I watched my little ladies that I watch twice a week.  They are too funny and always manage to crack me up.  I will definitely post some pictures of these little divas as soon as I find my camera cord. My room got hit by a tornado...also known as me being lazy and finding that cord could take...well who knows long.  Anyway, I spent the day playing in the snow with Emma and Eliza (twins age 4) and lets just say it wasn't as fun as it sounds.  We were freezing cold because its about 20 degrees and windy, and Emma was just not having it today.

When we got back home the girls decided they wanted to put on their Tutus and run around the house.  They're so cute.  Eliza is fascinated by boobs right now so she asked me to record a video of her talking about her boobs, or the ones that she would like in the future.  I wish I could post the video but I don't know how, but I will tell you that she does want them to be as big as the distance from New York to California, and she would like them to be high enough in the sky for Jesus to reach down and touch.  Quite the little lady I have on my hands lol.  It's a darn good thing shes cute.

Anyway not an exciting day...pictures of the girls will be up soon.  I have to go get ready for my new internship that starts tomorrow! Lucky magazine here I come!

I'll be back tomorrow night!

J-E-T-S Jets! Jets! Jets!

I don't particularly want to bore you, but today was uneventful and unexciting...aside from my Jets beating the Colts!  This post apparently didn't upload yesterday but oh well.   I went with Melissa yesterday down to Canal Street because she was looking for a bag...of course we didn't find one there.  The people down there are way to sketchy for me...definitely not much of a fan.  After that my amazing Aunt, Uncle, and cousins, got me a gift card for my birthday to Steve Madden.  I must have been lucky or something because I got to the store and they were having a great sale, two boots in particular that I have had my eye on for quite some time were part of the sale...and I was able to buy both!  I was extremely happy, to the point of being giddy (I know...I'm a dork).  It amazes me how shoes can make a girl so happy...but hey they do the job!

side note: Do not ever go to 16 Handles...well unless you want to become extremely addicted, with a belly hanging over your jeans.  It is too delicious for its own good.  I have a serious yogurt addiction...not the kind that my roommate Nikki has, ya know the healthy kind that you eat with fruit and maybe some granola.  I like the good stuff...the thick and creamy FROZEN YOGURT that you load up with fattening toppings.  Yep we definitely went there last night after the Jets game..I guess its better to eat that then have multiple beers as a sign of celebration.  Anyway, I am rambling, but for real, diet starts Monday because I can not allow myself to get attached to this goodness.

Have a goodnight lovas!

Good Friends and Snowy Days

I guess you could say I take things for granted, particularly the weather.  I never appreciated the beauty of a snowy day until today.  I used to dread going out in the snow and the miserable mood it typically put me in, after leaving me drenched.  Today, I developed a new attitude about snow.  I walked around the park with two of my roommates and two good friends from home.  We walked all the way from 83rd and York to 59th and Central Park South, taking stops at Alice and Wonderland and the area where the movie Enchanted was filmed,.  I forget the name but my roommate Kate is obsessed with that movie (we are very mature) and we decided to check out the scenery on a snowy afternoon.  It was absolutely beautiful.  The best part about the day is that it was not too cold, it was just right, well as good as it can be when snow is blowing in your face :).

We just ate dinner, the four roommates, and now we are getting ready and going out downtown tonight.  It's definitely a pain in the butt traveling from our apartment all the way downtown, but well worth it because we always have a great time when we are together.  We are also meeting up with my friends Matt and Melissa at a bar called Off The Wagon...

The day wasn't too exciting but maybe this night will be full of entertainment and fun..ill keep you posted.  In the mean time, enjoy some photos of my beautiful snowy day.

Let The Fun Begin

I've never blogged before, in fact, I have never written anything for the public to see.  I will most likely embarrass myself, spell things incorrectly, and use improper punctuation, but this is my learning experience, so feel free to comment. This blog is my attempt to capture different aspects of my year, and share them with you, in hopes that you are slightly interested.  Few people get to experience the life that I have been blessed with.  Twenty-two years old, living in New York City, with two responsibilities; Going to school and having fun.  This is my second year in the Big Apple.  The first year was all about learning to live on my own, making friends, figuring out the city, and getting back on the school grind.  This year is all about working hard, working out, trying new things, and enjoying my last year before going out into the real world.

Through my posts and pictures I hope to give you a laugh, inform you of the city life (particularly form a college students perspective), and leave you a little bit envious, because honestly, nothing is better then NYC in your early 20's.
